Very expressive fruit aroma with outstanding mature berries, forest fruit joined with delicate hints of coffee and toast coming from the barrels. From the start, it's a remarkable expression of Carmenere thanks to the typical fruit like plums, blackberries and some spicy touches. The tannins are polished and long with a medium body at the end.

Bright deep purple in colour, on the nose the Castaño Ecológico Barrica Monastrell delivers powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry, violet and spices that follow on the palate. Along with this, there is a smoky candied touch and black peppery background from its brief ageing in oak. The aftertaste is long and silky.

Shiny cherry red colour. On the nose, beautiful ripe red fruit notes stand out (cherry, plum) on a smoky background with liquorice hints. On the palate, it is easy-drinking, with smooth tannins and very fruity. Long and elegant aftertaste.

River Run is Chard Farm's Central Otago regional Pinot Noir made from grapes grown in their vineyards in different sub-regions of Central Otago. The deep alpine valleys and waterways of Central Otago have craved the land available for grape growing into quite distinct sub-regions. Each pocket of land has its own unique climate and soil mix producing quite different styles of Pinot Noir. River Run captures the character of each of the sub-regions where are vineyards are planted. Lowburn gives bright, fresh sweet fruit, Gibbston savory and herbal tones, and Parkburn brings good texture and mineral length. An expressive and complex bouquet with sweet floral notes swirling around ripe cherry and plum fruit with aromatic spice in the background. There's ample fresh fruit and velvety tannin on a palate that is elegant, satisfying and highly drinkable.

The harvest from these parcels is always carried out later because of the dominant varieties, Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon. Careful vinification gives this wine depth, elegance and length in the mouth. The floral bouquet of the Cabernet variety is predominant in the wines youth but develops later towards the more complex aromas of a Grand Vin de Bordeaux. Beautiful deep colour with purple tints. Hints of spice, vanilla and toasted coconut accent sun-kissed black cherry and plum in this juicy red wine. A full bodied wine with ripe, yielding tannins and a smooth finish.

Intense aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, accompanied by spicy hints of vanilla and clove. The palate is round, with soft tannins and nice acidity. Black fruits dominate, with a subtle hint of liquorice on the finish. The wine is balanced and easy to drink.

Earthy aromas of savoury oak, dark cherry chocolate and stewed rhubarb with spice and cinnamon over a robust and generous body. Leaving a persistent lingering silky finish.

This wine showcases classical Barossa black fruit characters with dark chocolate flavours matured in a combination of French and American Oak barrels. Try with a sizzling BBQ steak.

The McDonald Series wines are an expression of both their fruit and the vision of their namesake winemaker. Grown on gravel soils in Hawke's Bays' warmest sub regions, these vineyards typically produce rich Merlot displaying dense, brooding plum and dark berry fruit. This is complimented by subtle notes of violet, spice, earthy undertones and hints of dark chocolate. The palate is rich, weighty and long, driven by a firm yet fine-grained tannin structure. For quality reasons this wine is unfiltered and decanting is recommended.
