On the palate is has juicy blueberries and black plum, balanced with gentle tannins and a subtle toasty finish. It's a superb food match paired with duck, lamb or baked vegetable pasta or on its own.

Dating back to the 1980's, Grand Bateau is the fruit of the collaboration between Maison Barrière and Chateau Beychevelle, their sister company. The boat which decorates this label is the mythical galleon of the famous Château Beychevelle which took part and sponsored the conception and creation of Grand Bateau. Lifted spicy cloves, hint of musky redskin with vanilla bean spice and faint zataar notes. Fig seed with spicy ripe red plum. A rich full palate, with fleshy mulberry fruits. Subtle use of oak further adds complexity with good flavour and balance with some fine, powdery tannins evident. A well-balanced wine with great depth, length and structure.

A lifted and expressive nose of red and dark-berried fruit, autumn leaves and brown spice such as clove and nutmeg wrapped pulled together by fine oak. The palate is medium bodied and shows delicious berries, spice and fine but firming tannin structure. This is a lovely wine of brightness, lifted fruit and plenty of drive but finishing savoury and long.

This Pinot Noir has a deep ruby colour and offers a complex aroma of dark forest fruits, wild thyme and subtle smoke. The palate has flavours of vibrant blackberries and cherries, with a glossy mouthfeel, delicate acidity and plush tannins. Pair with chargrilled meats and game dishes.
