On the nose there are aromas of citrus, as well as honeydew melon and some stone fruit (peach and nectarine). In addition there is a hint of struck match which adds complexity and a flinty minerality. The palate is concentrated with refreshing acidity and a lingering finish.

The palate is generously full and fruity with plush velvety tannins that lead on to a lingering tangy aftertaste. While ready to drink on release we expect this wine to improve for several years and live for well over a decade with careful cellaring.

Upon release the wine is bright ruby in colour. There is a teasing array of vibrant red fruit on the nose including raspberry, pomegranate, cherry and plum. Spice and herbal notes, as well as a savoury underlay, add to the wine's complexity. While the palate has generous fruit weight and velvety tannins, it is balanced with refreshing acidity and a structure that gives the wine classic North Canterbury tension and pinosity.

This wine has a star bright lemon hue and while lemons, limes and mandarins come to the fore, there is a background of ripe stonefruit such as peaches and apricots. Honeysuckle and honeycomb influences come from botrytis, which has also made the wine more full bodied and concentrated. It has a spine of natural acidity and tingling minerality that helps draw out the palate structure to a citrus zest finish

Upon release it has a subtle lemon hue. The bouquet is vibrant, an intoxicating assortment of tropical and citrus. Heady aromas of passionfruit and pineapple flirt temptingly against a backdrop of grapefruit, green apple, lemon peel and a hint of gunflint. The mouthfeel is textured yet precise, with a rousing whip of acidity and simmering phenolics that give the wine increased structure and length. A complex and serious Sauvignon Blanc, displaying intense varietal character, a multi- faceted palate, and a long salivating finish.

Since its first release in 1962, Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz has celebrated the distinctive character of one of Australia's most revered wine regions. Sourced from the famed terra rossa soils of Coonawarra, this cool-climate Shiraz offers a graceful contrast to the richer, warmer-climate styles of the Penfolds collection, capturing the perfume, structure and depth unique to its origins. First released in 1960, Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mataro draws on a rich heritage of Australian red wine blending, inspired by the classic 'Australian Burgundy' style. Bringing together Shiraz and Mataro, this medium to full-bodied wine showcases the depth and complexity that have made traditional Rhône varieties a lasting favourite. Deep crimson in colour, it reveals layers of blackberry, mulberry and plum, woven with notes of star anise, clove and savoury herbs. The palate delivers generous dark fruit balanced by Mataro's earthy, savoury character, with rounded tannins and fresh acidity creating a seamless, lingering finish of spice, dark chocolate and subtle complexity.
