For well over a century, the Jam Shed played a crucial role in the development of the region through both jam and wine production. Vibrant aromatics of purple fruited compote, spice and purple florals on the nose. The palate is dominated by dark fruits and brambles, spice and a hint of warming oak, with a seamless flow and integrated tannin.

This wine has a nice dark colour. It exhales delicious scents of blackberry and raspberry enhanced by hints of spices. It is rich, complex and long on the palate.

Les Jamelles Syrah boasts deep colour and a syrupy consistency. Its wild fruit (raspberry, redcurrant, blackcurrant) and floral (violet) aromas harmonize with flavours of spices, vanilla and cinnamon, along with a touch of mint. This wine is very rich and full on the palate, with a touch of minerality as well as a long, silky finish that is of rare complexity and boasts a lovely lasting hint of liquorice.

Dreadnought Syrah is very classical in style, lifted red fruits with a dark edge of graphite and pepper along with savoury stem derived characters make for an intense and interesting aroma profile. The palate is very linear but vibrant carrying good weight and concentration but also a lively streak from the stem inclusion that makes the finish seem fresh and lithe.

The Petite Sirah from McManis Family Vineyards is vivid purple in colour, with aromas of full toned Blackberry and Boysenberry. Caramel and Toffee are evident in the bouquet, as well as a Chocolate oak profile. The wine is substantial, yet has a rich soft cream texture of mocha. Very elegant and full of ripe black fruit flavours of Blackberry and Blueberry. These fruit flavours are savoured in the lingering mouthwatering finish.

In 2014, winemaker Jo Nash discovered an exceptional parcel of Shiraz which was gently crushed and then stored away in some ridiculously expensive French oak barrels to age for 12 months. This wine speaks for itself - minimal intervention, purity of fruit, Shiraz at its' best. This is a special occasion wine. Drink with like-minded wine lovers who enjoy sticking it to the man! The Boxer Shiraz features a solid core of dark fruit, including ripe black cherries, mocha, and a hint of clove spice, all of which emerge vividly from the glass. The wine's rich and velvety mouthfeel is enhanced by a soft plummy texture, while well-measured tannins and a touch of toasted oak provide balance and structure.

Grapes sourced from Mount Riley's Seventeen Valley vineyard in Marlborough's Wairau Valley. This is one of their warmest vineyard sites and along with super low yields produces the ripeness levels required for Syrah. Grapes are cold soaked, fermented in small parcels and aged for eleven months in French oak barriques. In the glass, magenta with purple hues. Aromas of floral, spice and white pepper notes. The palate reveals a structured wine with great fruit purity and great length of flavour. Match with red or gamey meats and pasta.
